This Workshop is a national writing workshop that enjoys outstanding academic
reputation. Classes are given in short fiction, poetry, playwriting, mainstream
novel, screenwriting, humor and mystery/suspense novel. Occasionally, creative
non-fiction or children's writing is also offered.
Depending upon space, agents and/or publishers may also be included. The faculty
is well-published, has received numerous awards, and has taught at the college
level. Each teacher is kind, caring and concerned with writing level of each
student. The purpose of the workshop is to provide the best possible learning
experience attainable in one short week while transporting the writers into a
world of good times. This is important so that the writers return home renewed
and invigorated. The workshop is a member of the National Association Writing
Workshops and Festivals. The Director, Judith Hill is a columnist and a
published writer. She has served on the Board of the North Carolina Writers
Network where she chaired several statewide workshops.
